Packaging Paper Production, Dunajvros

Packaging paper production began at Dunajvros in 1976. The Dunajvros production line, which is still the largest in Hungary, is capable of producing 90,000 tons of products annually, which accounts for approximately 30% of current Hungarian paper production. The production line, which specializes in producing medium paper, is capable of producing it in all strengths (srenc, wellenstoff, and fluting) between 100 and 200 g/m2. Although the plant has a unit that is capable of producing semi-chemical pulp from poplar, most of the products are made of wastepaper.

All of Dunapack's production processes are controlled by computers. The most important product properties, such as weight and water content, are measured during production and controlled directly on the basis of the measurements. Strength and other functional properties are sample tested with a statistically necessary frequency. Upon request, quality certificates are issued for all paper rolls on the basis of the tests.

As is generally the case in industries that use important natural resources, environmental issues are inseparable from paper production. The Packaging Paper Plant is working hard to make Dunapack Ltd. a leader in environmental matters.
