Packaging Paper Production, Csepel

Dunapack Ltd.'s Division No. 1, the Packaging Paper Plant, manufactures 170,000 tons of packaging paper annually at two sites (Csepel and Dunajvros). 35,000 tons of this is sack paper and 135,000 tons is corrugated base paper used in the production of corrugated boxes.

Paper has been manufactured at the Csepel site since 1923. The plant has two paper production lines for turning out packaging paper.

One of the production lines produces various brown papers (50-110 g/m2) for sacks and bags and laminated corrugated materials. This plant was among the first in the world to use wastepaper for manufacturing sack paper, and wastepaper currently accounts for 70% of the raw materials used in the production of sack paper.

Modern classification, cleaning, and processing systems ensure that the quality and appearance of the finished products are the same as those of products made out of primary raw materials. The Clupak unit used on the sack paper production line allows paper extension to be increased to 8-9%.The other production line produces brown paper for corrugated boxes, liner board (testliner and duplex), and fluting paper (wellenstoff and fluting) out of 100% wastepaper. The weights of these papers varies from 110 to 200 g/m2.
