Dunapack Ltd. has a divisional organisational structure. Our Packaging Paper Division (PC1) has two sites in Csepel and Dunaújváros, where 246.000 tons of packaging paper was produced in 2002 on three paper machines. Roughly 10% of this amount was sack paper and 90% brown paper used for the production of corrugated boards.

Paper has been made at the Csepel site since 1923, but the number of production lines has changed over the years. Nowadays, one of the two lines produces 50-100 g/m2 brown papers for sacks, sachets and laminated packaging, and – the result of recent research and development – thin corrugated base papers of grammage 80-100 g/m². It was one of the first factories in the world to make sack paper from waste, and waste paper now forms 70% of the raw material for sack papers. Advanced screening, purification and manufacturing systems enable the finished product to match the quality and appearance of products made from primary raw material. The other production line makes corrugated base paper from 100% waste paper. The product is used for the as cover liner of the boxes. On the Division’s other site at Dunaújváros, corrugated base paper manufacturing started in 1976. Constant development has made this paper line into the Company’s most important production plant. Specialised in the production of medium liners, it is capable of the full strength range (srenc, wellenstoff, fluting), in grammages of between 100-150 g/m2. These products are also made exclusively of waste paper. The Corrugated Division operates on two sites. In Csepel, corrugated boxes were made to pack electric light-bulbs as early as 1923. Production in Dunaújváros started in 1976, using the most advanced machinery available at the time. The two advanced corrugating machines are capable of making double face, double-double face corrugated board and flute type C and B single face corrugated board in rolls.

Corrugated boards are converted into die cut, die cut glued, multi-point glued, American type glued and stitched boxes. Other products include trays, covers and accessories used primarily in the food industry (canning, meat, drink, cold-storage, dairy and confectionery) and manufacturing (engineering and chemicals). Flexographic printing on corrugated board with brown, white marble or white surfaces can produce anything from simple goods protection symbols to highquality advertising images.

The entire sales and production process is supported by an integrated computer system, with an Internet link to customers that accelerates business and reduces paperwork.
