Foreword

Dear Reader,

You are holding the Environmental Report of the Dunapack Ltd. for the year 2002 in your hands. According to our tradition we report about our efforts regarding environment protection and important results achieved in this field during the last year.

According to our Environmental Management System and the EMAS regulation we present in our environmental report our Management System, environmental impacts, objectives and the results of our programs every three years in a more detailed form. We wish to provide all interested parties a comprehensive and unambiguous picture about the relationship between the environment and our company.

Obviously the amount of information we can publish about our environmental impacts and activities in the present environmental report is limited. Nevertheless, we would like to satisfy the need for information of every interested party, therefore also in the future we will be available to answer all questions regarding our environmental achievements.

In the previous years we have received many suggestions, comments and acknowledgements from the readers of our environmental reports. We hope that the alterations and improvements made on the base of these comments will be recognized with appreciation. We wish to continuously fulfil the expectations of our readers and to adjust the content and image of our environmental report to the readers’ needs. Therefore we lay stress upon the learning of the readers’ opinion. We express our gratitude in advance to our readers for sending their comments about our environmental report to our colleagues.

We are confident that after having read the environmental report you agree with our conviction that our environmental activities show in the right direction. We are aware of the fact that there is still a lot to do on this way but we hope that - as a result of the correct and detailed information- - our readers will appreciate achievements related to protect our environment.
