3. Environmental Policy and Integrated Management System
Standard, internationally certified management systems have been in place at the divisions of Dunapack Ltd. since 1994. The Paper Division was among the first in Hungary to acquire ISO 14001 certification, as early as 1996. The year 2000 represented a milestone in the development of our management systems, when each division’s formerly individual systems were transformed into an integrated one meeting the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and the EMAS regulation. Of course, this integrated system – covering more than 1,000 employees and operating at three sites – could not have been implemented without advanced IT support, so we developed and introduced a support software package compatible with our existing IT systems. Banking on several years of experience gained from operating the system, we established and integrated with the existing system an occupational health and safety management system in the course of 2002 and 2003 – likewise among the first in the country – which complies to the OHSAS 18001 (MSZ 28001) standard. Successful certification in 2003 was a new significant step the company took on the path of sustainability.

Through operating and continuously developing an integrated management system, we intend to comply with a complex system of targets:
To meet our customers’ requirements and expectations with our products and services as far as possible and serve customer satisfaction;
To live in harmony with the environment and society, and run the business in a sustainable way;
To provide our employees with a proper, safe and healthy working environment;
To be aware of the shareholders’ business interests.This system of targets, as well as the principles required for their achievement, has been formulated in our integrated management policy, which represents one of the pillars of the management system and our everyday activities. |
