Our environmental policy

DUNAPACK Ltd. accepts its ecological responsibility to the society and future generations. The management is committed to the economic growth, higher efficiency and is aware of its ecologicall and social responsibilities based on principles of sustainable development.

Ecological considerations lay the foundation for our company philosophy, permeate all its activities from acquisitions, through production, up to the creation of corporate identity and form an integral part of decision-making mechanism. The management of Dunapack Ltd. is committed to continuous improvement of the environmental protection activities and reducing the harmful environmental effects of the production.
We pay particular attention to methods of saving primary natural resources.
When designing our products we try to use construction methods, through which the intended packaging function can be performed with the smallest possible quantity of materials. We optimize the quality of raw materials we produce for the same purpose.
The primary consideration in product development is suitability to complete recycling. For this reason, instead of combined packaging we offer alternatives, which do not cause an extra burden on the environment in their life cycle.
The company plays an increasing and role in promoting domestic waste paper collection. Our objective is to collect and recycle as much waste paper in Hungary as possible.

We are continuously working on building the collection network required to achieve this target. We are striving for the highest possible proportion of use of waste raw material in the packaging materials we manufacture, thereby reducing the quantity of primary raw materials. The share of waste to raw material in our products exceeds the international level. In order to protect non-renewable resources we continuously reduce the fresh water and energy usage necessary for production of paper.
With the aim of reducing the burden on the environment and improving the quality of our products, we have set ourselves the objective of employing the highest economically viable technological standards, both in production and in the case of cleaning equipment (e.g. sewage purification).

We regard the control of emission limits set out in environmental protection legal regulations and official stipulations as our fundamental obligation. We have built all the necessary control mechanisms for this, and are constantly working on their development. We have prepared for any possible exceptional incidents causing environmental pollution.

A central aim of our market strategy is that we let our customers know the ecological benefits of our environmentally friendly products. Our method is to provide excellent services meeting customer demands and not to increase the quantity of material sold at any price.
In order to achieve effective environmental protection activities, we place great emphasis on constantly informing and motivating our colleagues, and on enhancing environmental awareness.

Within this framework we keep employees informed of our environmental protection policy, objectives and results of our environmental protection activities by means of company newspaper and other internal publications, thereby striving to encourage sensitivity towards ecological matters. In addition, the company is trying to implement an effective and preventive environmental protection through regular, continuous and goal-oriented training of colleagues involved in activities with significant environmental effects.

An open information policy towards our colleagues, the public and the authorities is the basis of mutual trust and successful co-operation.
