Corrugated Plant, Budapest The Corrugated Plant, Budapest which won the National Quality Award in 2001, operates on two sites (Csepel and Dunaújváros), has a current overall capacity of 230 million square metres. The two advanced corrugating machines produce three-ply (types C, B and E) and five-ply (types CB, CE, BB and BE) corrugated board and types C and B rolled corrugated paper.
Corrugated board is converted into boxes: die-cut, glued die-cut, multi-point glued, and American and stitched boxes. The same plants also produce trays, covers and accessories used primarily in the food industry (canning, meat, drink, freezing, dairy and confectionery) and manufacturing (engineering and chemicals) industries. Flexographic printing on corrugated board with brown or white surfaces can produce anything from simple goods protection signs to complex, multicoloured photographic images with a range of advertising effects. This may involve pre-printing (5+1 colours) on to the liner, or by direct printing (1-7 colours) on to the board. Our 7 print-unit flexographic machines are capable of producing world-class printed images.
The entire sales and production process is supported by an integrated computer system, with an Internet link to customers, which accelerates business and reduces paperwork. Printing is supported by computer graphic design. Boxes and production tools are designed on a CAD system. Our technical customer service provides help with packaging questions such as packaging machine selection, product design, graphic design, and stacking optimisation. We deliver our products door-to-door, and follow the movements of our contractors’ delivery vehicles via a satellite vehicle tracking system. We also hold buffer stocks if required.
The Corrugated Plant uses only environmentally-friendly and recyclable raw and auxiliary materials for its products, whose quality is guaranteed by the manufacturing system. We run computer-supported quality management and environmental management systems, and for several years have been carrying out self-evaluation using the European Foundation for Quality Management Model (EFQM). The Plant’s customer-centred approach, its social sensitivity towards its workforce and its application of TQM methods constantly ensure the Company’s competitiveness and steady improvement of profits.
We are the first in the industry to offer e-business services to our partners, thereby raising the standard of the sales process. For small and medium-sized business customers, the database built on Dunapack’s production control and sales system can also function as their own system of records. |
