Company introduction

Dunapack Ltd. was created out of the principal Hungarian paper and packaging manufacturers, following the foundation of an Austro-Hungarian joint venture and the privatisation between 1990 and 1995.  Vigorous development could be reached since then by expanding the operation into a group of companies spreading through several countries. Subsequently Dunapack became market leader in the manufacturing of paper-based packaging materials in the Central-Eastern European region.  Dunapack Ltd. is the largest group controlled by Prinzhorn Holding. As part of the Holding, our operations reach over 10 countries of the region and further expansion is acted on. As shareholders in the Alliabox group, we are members of an organisation present in all countries of the European Union as well as in Turkey, Ukraine and Egypt. Alliabox provides products and services to uniform standards in all listed countries.

Single face web in rolls, corrugated board and boxes are produced in our corrugated plants (in Budapest, Dunaújváros and Nyíregyháza). We supply almost all ranges of the industrial branches with our products. Our services reach well beyond manufacturing including among others design, storage, transport and logistics. In the area of sales a considerable innovation was implemented by introducing first in the corrugated industry our e-commerce system called “Dunapack WebWP”. This service offers our customers rapid and secure information flow from an up-to-date source available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any point of the world.

Our company philosophy - living in harmony with nature – represents the corner-stone of our environment policy on which all activities are based from raw material procurement till finished goods sale. The company philosophy also builds organic part of our decision-making procedures. We are fully bound to continuously improve our environment protection activities and to decrease harmful environmental impacts of our production. An integrated management system assures fulfilment of above efforts including international standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in use for several years.

Due to professional expertise and commitment of our colleagues we could win important awards on several outstanding domestic and international competitions. In 2001 the Corrugated Factory won the Hungarian National Quality Award, an award for business excellence. Corporate Social Responsibility plays an important role in our company’s life and its scale of values is also present in everyday’s business activities.
Besides our plants in Hungary, we have major corrugated manufacturing operations in Rumania, Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Croatia. With one single exception, these were all set up as green-field investments, and all their products and services comply with the highest standards.
Eight smaller sheet plants also owned by the company bring us geographically closer to smaller customers and make us an economic and high-quality supplier in that part of the market too.
